When we got home from our trip, a package was waiting with my new 3D-printed Cherry Keeper. This one is an off-the-shelf design: the short model with the medium “headlock”. I ordered this one with the “premium” finish. This extra-cost option includes tumbling with ceramic beads to help polish the pieces.

This device is locked with the standard brass inset lock used by a lot of devices including Holy Trainer and many of the Chinese stainless steel cages. The Cherry Keeper does not come with the lock. Fortunately, I have a whole bunch of the inexpensive Chinese devices and I took the lock from one of them. If you don’t have one of these locks and you want to order this device,  you can order the lock from Amazon for about $7 or directly from China for about $8. Upon inspection I noticed that the surface still isn’t perfectly smooth. It has a sort of eggshell finish. I’ll let you know after I wear it a while if this finish is a problem for me. I’ve had devices (a custom device from Custom Chastity) with the stock finish. It caused me nothing but trouble. I ended up spending hours sanding the device smooth. Hopefully, that won’t be necessary this time.

Putting the ring on was straightforward. I ordered the 44 mm round ring. This is as close as I could come to the one and three-quarter inch size I like. It fits comfortably as expected. I asked Mrs. Lion to lock the cage on me. We both expected there would be some difficulty getting the head of my penis past the headlock feature. This is a shelf that goes around the base of the cage on the inside. The idea is that it “traps” the head of the penis and prevents it from moving backward. The designer feels this will make pullout more difficult. I thought it would keep the head in place and my urethra centered in the opening.

I ordered the medium headlock. This is a 3 mm wide shelf around the cage. Essentially that reduces the diameter by 6 mm. It turns out this isn’t very much at all. The head of my penis slipped past the shelf with no trouble. As a matter of fact more than the head made it past that shelf. It fits like a standard cage. Mrs. Lion had some difficulty mating the cage with the base ring. She had to do some wiggling and pressing to get it lined up correctly. Once lined up, the locking mechanism slid into place and she locked me in.

As you can see from the picture, my penis fits in this standard device quite well. My urethra seems to stay lined up and the cage is comfortable. The cage itself is slightly longer than my custom Jail Bird. It doesn’t offer any opportunity for illicit stimulation.

Since I’ve only been wearing it a few hours, I can’t comment on whether my urethra will remain lined up or if the cage will stay as comfortable as it is now. Only time will tell. I’m very fond of the way the front of the cage is constructed. It offers me a really good shot at staying aligned and peeing standing up.

I think the next step for me is to try a custom fit. This is surprisingly inexpensive. The designer charges a flat $75 to modify the Cherry Keeper to exactly fit. Getting the cage manufactured again is cheap as well, about $30. As I’ve written before, I’m very fond of the plastic cage I got from Custom Chastity. I can’t recommend them to you because their prices are rather high and the rough finish requires you to do considerable work to make it wearable. On the other hand, the Cherry Keeper is a really good design and is priced very reasonably.

I’ve been in communication with the designer and he has some ideas to further stabilize the cage. He does have an off-the-shelf headlock that is considerably wider than the one in this cage. I’m sure I need one that will better trap the head of my penis. I think that in the end it will cost me less to go for the custom help rather than trying another stock item and finding it not quite what I need.

Anyone who’s been messing with male chastity devices for any length of time knows how diabolically flexible the flaccid human penis can be. I realize that a design that’s going to keep my urethra centered snf my penis safely out of reach, requires a very clever designer. I think the Cherry Keeper stands a very good chance of doing the best job yet.

While my short test of the Nub isn’t going to yield much detailed information, I am very impressed by how comfortable it is to wear. It’s feather-light and doesn’t put pressure on any part of me. Since the tube isolates my penis from its surroundings (i.e. my underwear) it may actually be more comfortable to wear then going wild. Wouldn’t that be a kick?

It’s entirely possible that for many the device will be too comfortable. After all, most of us like the feeling of bondage that a chastity device gives us. If the device doesn’t make itself known at all, perhaps it’s the same as not wearing one.

When I am wild, I think about how I will miss erections once I’m in my cage again. But when I’m in the cage, I don’t give erections a second thought. They’ve become something I like to get, but don’t miss when they’re not around. Wearing a male chastity device isn’t about preventing me from masturbating. I’m well conditioned not to masturbate on my own. A chastity device is not necessary for this control.

Apparently, Mrs. Lion doesn’t care whether I wear one or not. That means the only reason for me to wear a male chastity device is because I like it. I don’t know about you, but that’s not a reason I like to think about. After all, a good part of my enjoyment of being locked up is that it’s bondage. Bondage implies that someone has forcibly restrained me. That’s why the practice is called “enforced male chastity”.

On Friday night, Mrs. Lion teased me a bit too much. I ended up starting to have an orgasm. She decided not to let it become ruined. So she went right back to work and made sure I had a nice, complete ejaculation. When the smoke died down, I asked her to leave me wild. I’m not sure why I did. She commented that she was going to lock me up again. But, she agreed to leave me uncaged.

My motivation for being released was that I wanted to see if it wouldn’t make it easier to get a full night’s sleep. It turned out that I slept all the way through the night. I’m pretty sure that being wild and nothing to do with it. But I did get a full night’s sleep.

I’d like to try again with the 45 mm (one and three-quarter inch) base ring for the Nub. Perhaps this afternoon we can try it. Wearing the Nub with the larger ring was fine in terms of everything staying in place. There was some rotation of the device which put my urethra at an angle with the opening in the tube.

I wonder if the larger base ring allowed extra movement and the resulting misalignment (See image, left). If I can get the smaller base ring on we can solve the mystery quickly. If the problem isn’t related to the base ring I’m not sure why this is happening.

In general, chastity devices and my locking cock ring seem to want to rotate 10 or 15° to the right. This happens with all of them. I can’t explain it. It doesn’t cause any trouble with the other devices. It will be a problem though with the Nub.

I have to admit that I’m fascinated by this new device. I’ve never experienced any cock and ball hardware that is so comfortable to wear. Even though I spent a lot of time at my desk, there was no pinching or adjustments of any sort needed. My only concern is that my urethra is going out of alignment with its only opportunity to expel urine.

One of our readers expressed concern about keeping his Nub clean. Admittedly I didn’t wear it very long, but it was easy to make sure the device was completely clean when I showered. We have a handheld shower massager and it has more than enough power to thoroughly rinse the inside of the tube.

If I can lick the “traveling urethra” issue, the Nub could end up being a perfect male chastity device. The only metal in it is the very small locking mechanism buried in the connection between the tube and the base ring. I’m sure that this little bit of brass will not trigger TSA metal detectors.

Yesterday afternoon, I asked Mrs. Lion to lock me up again using the one and three-quarter inch (45 mm) base ring. I had a much easier time getting it on. I suspect that when I tried it Friday evening I may have been a bit excited, and that made it more difficult.

This time, Mrs. Lion had much less trouble getting the tube on me. Given the unusual shape of the ring, it takes a bit of skill to put the device on with a properly-sized ring. Now we’ll find out if the smaller ring has any effect at all on keeping my urethra centered in the opening. I suspect it will.

Obviously, I need to do a lot more testing before I can wholeheartedly support this product. Since it’s available at low cost ($30) from a Chinese vendor, you may want to test it too. Please let me know how you’re doing if you try it.

Holy Trainer has been making plastic chastity devices for several years. Their devices have evolved to include shorter and shorter cages. Most recently, they launched their V3 Nub. This device features a one-inch-long penis tube. I’ve read a review or two that marvel at how comfortable such a short device can be. I’ve been wearing a one-inch Jail Bird for quite some time. So the length of the Nub is exactly what I am used to wearing.

I have a Holy Trainer Nano. Prior to the Nub, this was the shortest device they made. I reviewed it here. It was just okay. It was too long for me and not very comfortable. I have to admit that I was skeptical about the Nub. I didn’t order this device from Holy Trainer. I didn’t want to spend $175 for a device I would just wear to review. I found an exact copy from China. At least it looked like it was one.

When it arrived, I compared it to my Nano. To my surprise, it appeared to be exactly the same plastic that Holy Trainer uses for their factory-authorized products. The device itself is very well-made. In fact, the quality appears exactly the same as the Nano. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Nub isn’t made in China for Holy Trainer. In any case, the knockoff cost only $30. Normally, I don’t like recommending knockoffs. But in this case, I can’t see any reason to spend over 100 more dollars for exactly the same thing.

Fitting the Nub

The Chinese knockoff comes with four base rings. The size ring I wear with most devices is one and three-quarter inches (45 mm). The Nub came with one that size. The base rings themselves have an “anatomical” shape. I’ve never noticed any difference wearing rings that shape. It was difficult to get into the 45 mm ring. When Mrs. Lion attempted to fit the tube, she couldn’t get it on me. I took off the 45 mm base ring and replaced it with the 50 mm ring (2 inch). As expected, this was a bit roomier. I wondered if it would be too loose.

Once I had that ring on, Mrs. Lion had no trouble locking the cage. Right from the start, the device felt really comfortable. My urethra pokes out through the one hole in the tube. Nice!

Since this was the first time Mrs. Lion has locked me into the device, it isn’t quite centered. However, this does not have any effect on how well it works.

Wearing it
From the very first minute, it’s been completely comfortable wearing this device. The plastic is very lightweight and I am not even aware that it’s on my body. The Jail Bird, on the other hand, makes itself known when I am naked because it’s weight pulls down my cock and balls. Even though the Nub, pushes my balls out, I’m not consciously aware I have it on.

The device caused me no difficulty sleeping. It was as though I were wild. I don’t recall feeling any attempt to get an erection. I probably did but I didn’t wake up.

I’ve only had it on for bit over a day. This is certainly not long enough to offer a full review. It is long enough to draw some conclusions:

The device is supremely comfortable. I can say without reservation, that this is the closest to feeling wild that I’ve experienced since I started enforced chastity. I was worried that my urethra would not remain centered in the opening and that I would have difficulty peeing. So far it’s remained close to where it belongs. I noticed that the urine stream is a bit narrower and it takes a bit more effort to urinate. This is a very minor problem for me.

In terms of security, I think it would be very difficult to stimulate myself sexually. The tube is designed with a shield that protects the sensitive spots under my penis and one on top that extends past the base ring (see the image above, right).

I won’t get a chance to do a long test now. The device will have to come off later this weekend since I’m going in for surgery on Tuesday. After my recovery, I know that I will want to put this device back on and give it a long test. If things continue the way they are right now, this could be a custom-device killer.

The four base rings that come with it cover way over 90% of the sizes men need. The tube is 1.33 inches in diameter. This may not fit everyone, but I suspect it’s sufficient for the vast majority of us. It’s perfect for me. As I’ve discovered, the one-inch length of the tube is going to work for almost everyone. This may be the first off-the-shelf device that can successfully compete against custom-made devices like the Jail Bird. Considering that the Jail Bird costs well over $400 and this device just $30, it makes sense to try this first.
